Dragging out the summer wardrobe to find its all a little over worn, a size too small (none of us actually do a bikini diet anymore right?) or a tags-still-on regrettable buy… there’s no better excuse to go on a shopping spree.
Prior to Lindos, I experienced the British ‘I have nothing to wear’ crisis and so hit up Westfield in hope of a holiday makeover. I was pretty surprised at my luck!
White Sandals – Oslo 2, now £18 from Office
These ‘Espadrilles’ style sandals from Office are crazily comfy, with a thick sole and wide straps. I wore them on most casual day trips. They are now reduced to £18 and available in a range of colours!
Dress – Petite Stripe Sundress now £18 (damn it!) from Miss Selfridge
Brown Sandals – Blowfish Granola Sandals, Whiskey Dye Cut £40 from Office
I think this is my new favourite summer dress. It’s so light and comfy to wear, day or night. I’d seen it in Miss Selfridge a few weeks before and knew it would be the ultimate Lindos dress! It’s only available in Petite but I can assure you as a 5ft8 lady, it isn’t too short and will fit us tall ones too. Plus its now reduced to £18 in the sale… why does that always happen after you buy something!
These Blowfish brown sandals are also super comfy to walk around in all day. They have a slightly soft thicker sole and stretchy back so you can slip them on and off easily.
Silver Bangle – £3.99, also available in gold from H&M
Recycled Solid Silver Rings – Double Continuous Ring £35 and Glacial Band (Wide) £45 from Saints of Bohemia
Silver Necklace – £2.99, also available in gold from H&M
This collection of jewellery was (and still is) my everyday wear. I just wanted a couple of cheap pieces for the holiday so picked up the bangle and necklace for a shockingly low price in H&M. They went perfectly with my new rings from Saints of Bohemia, a great brand that I came across at Spitalfields Market. They use recycled solid silver to create a gorgeous range of unique jewellery. It took me a very long time to decide!
Hat – Straw Hat With Bow £22 (I can’t find the exact one but there’s a gorgeous range on the website) from Accessorize
I was also super happy to find the ultimate summer straw hat! I’m normally super fussy when it comes to choosing a hat but after seeing the super cute bow on this gorgeous Accessorize floppy hat, I knew it would be the perfect choice. I can’t seem to find it online but it was a full priced item in June so I assume it is still in stores.
It also complimented by 50s style outfit that I wore to the Lindos Acropolis. I paired an Asos everyday v-neck tank top with my new daisy denims from Collectif. I also discovered this cute little shop in Spitalfields Market and fell in love with these gorgeous vintage-style shorts.
Denim Shorts – Sharon Daisy Denim Shorts, £25 Collectif
Sunglasses – Jessica Preppy Sunglasses £12 from Accessorize
They zip up at the side leaving a smooth front, and the stretchy fabric (hello 3% spandex) allows for complete comfort (even when walking up a steep hill in the boiling heat).
I paired this outfit with some more Accessorize goodies including sunglasses, a trio of gold jewel bangles, a lovely gold plated ring and a white leather bag.
Ring – Oval Stone Ring now just £5.10 (OH COME ON!) from Accessorize
Bangles – Set of 3, from the Accessorize summer sale
Bag – White handbag from Accessorize (no longer online)
I wore my new flats with this outfit, a pair of white boat shoes from Dorothy Perkins. They are so soft on sore feet, with a padded sole and soft leather look material.
Shoes – White Loafers £10 in the sale from Dorothy Perkins
For cool evenings I had two favourite dresses, both from H&M.
The first is a maxi dress with two splits down the front and a gorgeous open back, perfect for showing off a tan!
Maxi dress – £14.99 from H&M
Earrings – In the Accessorize summer sale
I am also in love with this short summer dress from H&M, it was perfect for the hot evenings in Greece and also for our London heatwave! I love the pattern and its flattering shape is perfect for all those curves.
I paired it with a pair of strappy black sandals from New Look. After wearing them on a night on the town, I can confirm that they are suitable for dancing the night away!
Dress – Short dress £12.99 from H&M
Shoes – Black Suedette Multi Strap Heeled Sandals £19.99 from New Look
And there we have it! I hope you’ve had a successful summer shop and maybe even have seen something that would look great on your holiday.
