On a scale of 1-10 how well are you coping with this heatwave? I started at a 10 – digging out my crumpled summer clothes, spritzing on the sun lotion, slipping into sandals… but now I’m at an all time low. I can’t even unlock my phone with my fingerprint I’m so clammy.
With that said, I’m thoroughly enjoying London in the sunshine when it doesn’t require a stuffy underground journey – reading in the park, walks along the river and a cold drink in the sun. Speaking of, do you remember at Christmas when I popped down to the South Bank for a festive evening? Well this summer the snow’s been replaced with parasols, Christmas trees with fairy lit floral walls and the mulled cider with Rekorderlig’s newest range of innovative flavours.
Down by the river, Underbelly Festival Southbank is celebrating its 10 year anniversary with a number of shows from comedy to cabaret until the 30th September (one in particular caught my eye immediately – Gals Aloud, a drag act version of our favourite noughties girl band!) As well as grabbing tickets for a night of entertainment, you can head down to Rekorderlig’s Botanicals bar outside the main tent for a relaxed alfresco drink.
There’s plenty of tables to try three brand new flavours of the best Swedish cider, which have launched just in time for the summer. Sometimes you don’t want something too strong or too heavy in the sunshine and the new Botancials range fit the bill – they are perfectly refreshing.
